Cody Mazuran has been designing since, at the age of five, she requested that her father teach her how to use a sewing machine.
Her clothing designs have dressed dolls, been to proms and graced weddings. They've dressed children and grandchildren and have produced several fashionable ties for her husband. Through it all, quilts have warmed the family.
Experience helped Cody recognize the strong link between fashion and quilts, and in 1993 she used that expertise to form a quilt pattern company, now known as Buttercup Quilts.
Cody's degree in Home Economics Education from Brigham Young University launched an early career in teaching. She now teaches and lectures exclusively on the techniques, benefits and joy of quilt making.
She belongs to several quilt groups including the Utah Quilt Guild and for relaxation plays golf with her husband. They have six children and eight grandchildren who are protected on warm summer days by "Sun Catchers," Buttercup's recent collection of sun hats for those precious little ones.
Cody has authored the book, A Fine Finish, which suggests new, exciting ways to bind quilts.
